Elite Hotel Carolina tower Stockholm

Hey everyone!

Last week i made a visit to Stockholm for some press events and business meetings. One of the events was Brilliant minds a very known event, but more about this soon. Finding a Hotel is always a struggle for me as i am picky on location etc. Prior to a big event such as Brilliant minds in Stockholm most Hotels can be fully booked or overpriced. But i managed to find this very beautiful luxurious Hotel in Stockholm.

Elite Hotel Carolina Tower recently opened the doors to the public, one of the most luxurious Hotels of the Elite of Sweden Group. The first of its premium-brand properties due to be rolled out in key locations in Sweden. The Carolina tower by Elite Hotels of Sweden feuture the latest intelligent room technology including a flat screen smart TV and indoor closet lightning.

Luxury features include a super comfortable XL sized bed, rainfall shower and a big mirror in the bathroom. The shower products are al from Rituals. The overal look in the room is completed with oak flooring and finely detailed with velvet interior pieces. The room also includes a Nespresso machine to start the day right!

The energetic city life of Stockholm is just a sneek outside of your window, if you peak down from your chair or bed you can spy the highway and a beautiful skyline view of the city. Ps. my room was located on the 15th floor. On the 16th floor is a very modern fitness and a sauna/spa spot surrounded by glas to see the amazing view over the city. After a long day of meetings and events this was my spot to be zen and enjoy a silent moment for myself. The great thing about the Hotel is that the rooms are entirely soundproof and the windows let in allot of light but no noise. This is all beneficial for a great nightrest and a break from the croud down there. Elite Hotel Carolina Tower is easy to reach by metro ( 5 minutes from city centre) or 10 minutes by bus.

The Hotel includes a great Restaurant which is called Haga Bottega. The new Mediterranean-and Italien restaurant situated in Stockholm’s most growing and beautiful community Hagastaden. It is located on the ground floor next to the reception. Haga Bottega serves traditional Italian dishes combined with Mediterranean creations for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. It has a very modern but vintage look which makes it very comfortable and welcoming. They offer a wide range of healthy dishes including several vegetararian ones. The best thing is that they also have a cocktail bar with almost every cocktail available. The ambiance is perfect as you can choose to sit more private or central. The service is asolutely great as the staff truly loves to have a personal talk and wants to make sure your comfi. Haga Bottega is the best option to have a diner as the restaurants near the Hotel are more fast food ketens.

You can find more information about Haga Bottega here

The sunset is just breathtaking and you can enjoy it from the comfort of your bed if you’re not, like me taking a moment of Photos! 🙂 . This is truly a lovely hotel for your weekend getaway, whether it’s for shopping, a citytrip or a break from the working life. I had a great stay in the Hotel as it has a perfecty balanced ambiance and so much comfort and luxury to offer.

#Connectednotdistracted Kronaby x Matias Varela

Hey Guy,

It has been a while since I wrote a new article here due my many trips and projects. But I am very excited about this article as last weekend has been an absolute great one. I was flown in to Stockholm (Sweden), it was my first time ever in Stockholm. I was there for the new campaign #Connectednotdistracted of Kronaby and to meet their new Global Ambassador! Of course I knew who it was but we could not reveal it before the 19th of April… Kronaby is part of Anima, a company specializing in purposefully designed smart, connected products. They created a timepiece that honors their love for classic watches. On the outside, it’s an authentic and beautiful timepiece made of materials and components that will stand the test of time. Its magic lies on the inside: They created a movement that can do more than just keep time.  And I worked with Kronaby Sweden for about a year now as i think their story and focus is exceptional.

Once arrived in Stockholm city I checked in at the Nobis Hotel, which is a 5 star Hotel and i think one of the best ones out there. ( More about this ony blog later) Upon arrival in the suite I found a new Kronaby watch waiting for me, the new ss18 model! In the evening it was time to finally meet the Kronaby family and the brand ambassador. The venue for the night was Dramaten (The Royal Dramatic Theatre ) a very elegant place. Once arrived at Dramaten it was time to meet Matias Varela the ambassador for Kronaby, you might know this talented actor from the series Narcos on Netflix. This was the big reveal of Matias as he is the new face and ambassador for Kronaby!  It was so cool and interesting chatting with him, his humor and down to earth personality really made it easy to talk about private and business life. Once chatting around with Matias and some other bloggers from different parts of the world, it was time to start seeing the campaign that the Kronaby family and Matias Varela have worked on. #Connectednotdistracted stands for living in the presence. We are all so focused on our smartphones that we forget to actually enjoy the moments with friends or family. Since social media took a huge part in our society it really got us distracted from the reality. Kronaby watches made it possible to filter your notifications from your phone to avoid unnecessary time in your screen. Think about personalized notifications who make it able to make photo’s with one press on the button of the watch, or picking up phone calls. I use the features step counter and find my location as I sometimes cross locations who are great to shoot for the future.

We had a great 4 diner course with a lovely table setting to chat with other bloggers and press. I had the luck to sit with the Kronaby family itself which was as nice as we used to communicate on email before (Without having a face in front of you). After diner it was time to have some drinks at the open bar and mingle with the crowd! I think the night ended at 1pm, because we had a busy day after such as shooting content and a lunch with the Kronaby family at the Strand. This is a nice venue located in the very heart of Stockholm. (Harbor).

The kronaby event in Stockholm was a really great experience to never forget. The team is lovely and i’ve met so many people with great stories. It really felt like a close family with same interests. Unfortunately I was not able to discover all parts of Stockholm as I had a busy schedule with business partners and the Kronaby family. But for sure I will return any time soon.

My birthday weekend in Paris X First Hotel Paris

Hey Guys,

So i just got back from Paris as i was there for Paris Fashion Week and ofcourse to celebrate my birthday as you all have seen on my social channels. For this very special moment i had my stay planned in the First Hotel Paris. This Hotel is located in the very centre of Paris, 15 min from the Eiffel tower! And that’s one of the reasons why i had this room with a very beautiful view. ( Which you will see in this blogpost 🙂 ) The Room itself actually looks quite nice and modern. It has a black and white color scene which makes it extra luxurious and sort of spacious. It offers an Nespresso machine for some coffee and a mini bar. And the most important think to me: A big closet to stuff all my selected outfits in for this trip!

I arrived in Paris on wednesday evening, just ontime for my birthday the morning after. ( March 1st). My birthday started off right with a breakfast served on bed by the staff of the First Hotel. With a sweet note to wish me an amazing birthday and a warm welcome to Paris! After it was time to take ofcourse an amazing photo of me on the balcony of my room! Which had the best view possible on the eiffel tower. The day was actually very busy for me as it was also Paris Fashion Week so i got meetings to do as well. So after breakfast it was time for me to meet the Blackberry group in the Lobby of the First Hotel Paris as you all have seen in my last blogpost. After this it was time for me to pick up some goodies at Rue saint honore ( My shopping paradise). And yes it was time to spoil myself for my birthday and all the hard work that i’ve done the last months. 1st stop Hermes for some very special pickups. The second stop was at Alexander Mcqueen where my friend works and always keeps the most exclusive and cool items apart for me untill i’m in Paris. So yes i ended up with some great items.

( I could be in this bed staring at this view forever)

One of the spots that i like to take lunch in Paris is L’Avenue on avenue Montaine, i think everyone knows this restaurant and area. It has the best springg rolls and i love to take in some french fries:). I met up here with Sandra she is one of my best business partners and friend. She is the owner of Otis Skincare and of course suprised me with a new box full with Otis Skincare products. We had a lovely lunch here and actually came across some partners and friends here aswell, so that was great. After this it was time for a stop at Balmain for some pick-ups and my friend was convinced to by the classic blazer from Balmain. I will not tell you all the things that i did this day as it is to much to talk about. Think about shows from Fashionweeks and collaboration meetings:)

After coming back in my hotel after a great day in Paris, the team of the First Hotel actually got a suprise for me again :). Once i opened the door of my suite i saw a bottle of champagne waiting for me on the bed with a note. Honestly the service and eye of detail from the staff of this hotel is just amazing!

CIFF #FW18 Edition X LAURENT SEBASTIAN

Hi Guys,

I just got back from Copenhagen. I was invited by the CIFF to fly in and visit the 3 day during fair which has a really known name in Europe and abroad. This was my second time at the CIFF as I visited the fair last summer as well. I’m a huge fan of the Scandinavian fashion as the style is very minimalistic and tailored, 2 things which are important to me. Plus the people are so much more ahead of fashion compared to other countries in Europe. So this was really a perfect way to discover some new brands for me.

After my touchdown in Copenhagen I went straight to the Bella Sky Hotel, luckily this Hotel is actually on a walking distance from the CIFF fair. I started the day with an amazing breakfast in the Bella Sky Hotel, they offer allot of healthy foods and BIO ones. This was another plus as I’m on a new food plan, so I could balance here as well. After this it was time to fresh myself up and get myself ready for my meetings. I actually had 10 meetings scheduled on my first morning at the CIFF. After entering the fair I really saw that the CIFF organization really paid attention to several details on the fair. It really gives you the feeling of a fashion experience and makes you curious to more.

Once I finished my first meetings of the day it was time to see some of my old friends on the fair that I met the last edition of the CIFF. We always have an amazing time talking about fashion, online marketing and private life. I found it important to help each other and give advice. This is what friendships are about. After walking around on the fair I really met so many great people and business partners. It is always nice to meet new people and people in real life after having so much email contact without a face :). It gives a better impression of yourself and the other. There were so many incredible brands on this fair and even ones that I didn’t hear about. (But glad that I know them now) The fair was really well organized as I got a VIP arrangement I could enter some pressrooms and little spaces to work on my laptop (Plus charger points for my phone). There was also plenty of food in the VIP rooms which is perfect as I am a foodie. Think about pasta’s, salads etc.

For day 1 at the CIFF I selected this all black look. (Black just really dresses perfect in every way during the winter season)

The jacket is from the new SS18 collection of Jofama.

It is made of leather and suede parts finished with silver zippers.

The pouchette is from Goyard.

It is so practical for me during the day or when I’m attending events. You can actually put allot in it such as my: Business cards, 2 phones, vlog camera and other things.

The sunglasses are selected my Jose Feliciano glasses.

These sunnies really matched with the outfit as they were black but finished with reflecting glasses which gave it a more edgy look.

Enjoy

BALR X MINI AMSTERDAM PRESS EVENT

Hi guys,

Last night I was invited by Balr to join the press event of BALR and MINI Amsterdam. I did several collaborations with Balr in the past, so ofcourse I was going to this event! The funny thing is that I drive a Mini cooper myself  and am considering to get another one. This time lifestyle brand Balr collaborated with the Mini dealer in Amsterdam to launch a customized Mini cooper S Clubman all in the theme of Balr. The Mini is wrapped in a matte Balr print that we all know as the ‘ soccer ball print’ which you also see in clothing and product boxes. The first thing you notice in the interior are the head rests with Balr stitched in it. The overall interior is used with materials that really fit to Mini such as nappa leather and ‘soccer ball print’ that continues in the leather interior.

Mini started years ago with a comeback of small fun cars. But today the day Mini actually offers a wide range of models which look much more masculine to attract different buyers. The cars are fashionable and modern and fun to drive, besides this Mini offers lifestyle products to. Think about suitcases, clothing and fun accessories for your Mini. It’s the best from 2 worlds, a lifestyle fashion brand and a lifestyle car brand.

The cars are ready to see you at the MINI showroom in amsterdam.

Outfit details of this post:

Pants : Balr

Sweater : Balr

Pouchette : Goyard

Jacket: Jofama

Hermes exhibation – Les mondes de Leïla Menchari in Paris

During my business trip to Paris I was invited by my friend Michael to visit the Hermès à tire-d’aile exhibition at the Grand Palais. This exhibition was held by Hermes this month in honor to Leila Menchari, highlighting her poutique yet flamboyant work as window designer. In this exhibition you will see the world of Hermes world displayed by Leila Menchari.

Quick background of who Menchari was, after graduating her studies in Tunis she moved to Paris to study. Her interest was in peinture at the L’ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts. Here is where Menchari met Azzedine Alaia, who introduced her to the world of fashion. She started working as assistant and head illustrator at Hermes. Here Annie Beaumel (the former Head of windows) taught her everything. Eventually Menchari designed windows for Hermes from 1978 to 2013. Her window designs were always recognized by her use of exotic materials and the poetry from her travels.

In my opinion Parisian displays of stores would be the nr1 winners every single time. The eye for detail is just amazing, and really asks you to come in! The savoir-faire of these designers is exceptional and unique au monde and this month it’s a great time to celebrate an amazing women who excelled in this industry. It is she who designed, illustrated and created all the windows at the Hermès’ flagshipstore on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Click here to buy her Hermes book .

The display below was one of my favorites, as it really shows a poetry and the luxury of Hermes. Personally i’m a huge fan of the window displays at Hermes as it tells a story and it almost looks like a fairytale.

In this display you could really see the travel inspiration that Leila Menchari used. The choice of the bag fabrics and colors is amazing.

By Leila Menchari and Hermes

”When designing a scene, there must always be some mystery, for mystery is the springboard to dreams. Mystery is an invitation to fill in the gaps left by the imagination. This is how Leïla Menchari explains one of the secrets behind the success of her flamboyant window displays.”

Enjoy Laurent
