Most of you probably saw that my team and i were on a press trip in Gran Canaria. I personally visited the Spanish islands very often when i was young. ( To skip winter in Europe 🙂 I always wanted to go back as the islands have given me joyfull memories! And now it was finally happening.
I was checking the weather forecast beforehand but it wasn’t looking that great. I will tell you more about that later.
We flew from Eindhoven Airport to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria airport. The flight was business class and was pretty smooth for a flight of 4 hours. Once arrived we were hosted by our transfer ( 24/7 available driver) who was booked for my stay. So she was my personal assistant for the stay in Gran Canaria. Fancy me lol. She was absolutely friendly and fun to talk with, and the weather was actually amazing aswell as it was sunny with clear skies. ( So guys never trust to much on weather forecasts). The whole transport and service was absolutely outstanding. There was actually a customized map for my whole team in Gran Canaria with my name on it ‘Laurent Sebastian press trip’.
Our hosting resort was a 1 hour drive as it was located in the deep south of the islands. This was actually a positive thing as the island has a micro climate. This means that it has diffirent climates on the island, snow meets sun etc. We were directly brought to the Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa and thankfully we had the evening off of arrival. We started the first evening with an ‘A la Carte’ menu at a michelen holding restaurant within the hotel. It had 7 cources which was a little to much, but absolutely top of the level food! After that it was time to take a long rest as i travelled so much lately that i forget to take a rest sometimes. The Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa is a 4 star resort in an amazing location in Gran Canaria. The service was outstanding and the hygiene was on a top level. Ps all rooms have seaside views. Our room was pretty big with a big balcony with sunset view! So time for a timelapse!. As GCwellness was my organiser or the trip ( Spa trip), they had an amazing Spa in the Hotel. On the next day i started the day with an outdoor gym session and after a ‘Hot stone massage in the spa offered by the Hotel manager’. One word: Amazing! i felt like a newborn! The Hotel has 2 heated pools to make it more pleasant in the low season.
( View from our suite, i will mis this every evening)
At night we tried the main restaurant. VIP table with the best view reserved. The cuisin was french/oriental inspired and of course delicious. We had no wished left unfulfilled. Also the breakfast, which is always the most important meal for me and my team was amazing! From fresh fruits, pancakes to any egg dish of your choice, there was nearly everything.
Now i want to say something about the weather, we had 2 days of very sunny weather! The rest of the stay was mixed with clouds and very windy days. The best time for travelling to Gran Canaria is from the end of april to october! So we were a little bit early, but still no complains!
Everyday we had a full schedule with our transfer to visit different Spa’s in different Hotels on Gran Canaria. Followed by lunches with the Pr & marketing responsibles from the Hotels. This was actually very interesting and fun, to share ideas and get to know more about the heritage of each and every Hotel. One of the Hotels that we visited was Seasided Palm Beach. This was a 5 star Hotel located at the Dunes of Gran Canaria. This Hotel has individual rooms to offer to their guests. So different use of colors and materials. ( Some guests even ask to the certain room ). This Hotel has 5 stars and a very known tapas restaurant. ( Ofcourse we were having lunch there) The Hotel was retro/vintage inspired, as the interior was fully redone. More about this on my blog later.
On tuesday we were brought to the San Roque Hospital Maspaloma this is a very know hospital on Gran Canaria. They offer the best healthcare for the people on Gran Canaria and offer several treatments. Think about Botox, fillers etc. Once arrived i got a tour through the Hospital by one of the managers, after this i was introduced to the doctor who wanted to offer me treatments. ( After an intake and skin observation). I was guided very professional through my treatments with an excellent service and very professional English. I started with a goldon mask which is a mask in 2 layers full with minirals and other skin enriching ingredients.
The other Hotel was named Be Cordial. This Hotel was near our hosting Hotel located in the south of the island. This Hotel was amazing to, they had special junior suites which had a private garden and large balcony. It really gave you that feeling as if you were in Cuba. This because they make use of several different colors on the construction of the houses. Like miami vice blue and yellow, And even lemon trees in your own garden. You know what they say ‘When life gives you lemons”. I visited their GC Wellness spa aswell, and i think this was one of the most beautiful pools that i’ve seen during my stay In Gran Canaria. See the photos later :).
Was it one of my best trips? Definitely! Why? Because the whole service and set up of the trip was absolutely outstanding! They had so much eye for personal service and wanted the best or nothing. Combined with the perfect service you can say that despite of the two days of bad weather we had the best holiday of our lives. Were the Hotels one of the best that we ever been to? Definitely!
We are very happy about this experience. And Gran Canaria is definitely worth a trip – no matter if for a active holiday or simply to escape the struggles of the everyday life. Here you can do definitely more than just relax
